March Feel

A little more than a month removed from a defense-optional first meeting between Davies & North, the two state tournament favorites retook the court on the opposite end of town. The Eagles started fast but the half took a turn after Max Froslie was hit with a technical foul following a dunk. The momentum swing crescendoed with a make by Jeremiah Sem to tie it at 31. A couple more makes by each team and then they returned to their respective rooms.

After returning Davies was able to have an even hotter start, 14 - 2 through the first three minutes. But then, again, the Spartans mounted an answer to draw within one, 52 - 51. With an ailing Ian Motschenbacher even more of the responsibility fell on Mason Klabo and he continued to deliver with the help of Froslie who showed range from the outside repeatedly. Together they helped extend the lead back to double-digits in the final minutes. Those minutes were still enough for North to show their quick-strike ability & keep the pressure on. They could not, however, string together stops to go along with their makes and so Davies held on to the season sweep. Even so, a meeting between the two in the SHAC or the BEC would have a very similar feel!

Mason Klabo finished with a game-high 30 points after scoring 17 in the first half. Max Froslie wasn't far behind with 22, six makes from deep, while Ian Motschenbacher had 12 of his 17 in the second half. Raymond Brown also came through down the stretch with all 11 of his points in the second half.

Jeremiah Sem lead the way for North with 26 points. He was joined in double-figures by Matthew Sem (13) & Carter Zeller (11). Nine of Zeller's points came in the second half while Luke Loberg also added nine.
