After a slow offensive start by both teams Sheyenne rattled off eight-straight points. Miriley Simon saw that and raised it by scoring nine of the first 12 points for West Fargo. Her counterpart in blue, Maya Metcalf, helped her team hold the early lead with two of her four total makes from beyond the arc. But two is better than one and West Fargo's pair helped them finish the first half on an 18-8 run over the final six minutes to take a four point lead into the locker room.
The defensive intensity & offensive efficiency continued out of the break as West Fargo went on a 17-2 run over the first eight and a half minutes. Sheyenne had opportunities to keep it closer but the figurative lid was on the cylinder. The Mustangs found a spark with repeated trips to the foul line but even with the clock stopped that only helped them keep pace with their rivals offense.
West Fargo was paced once again by Miriley Simon's 31 & 10 while Chloe Pfau finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals & a block.
Maya Metcalf was the leading scorer for Sheyenne with 26 points. Peyton Breidenbach was second with 9 points.
