South Boys

Fargo South will take the court this Winter without a myriad of their key contributors last season. The one main hold over is Zunekia McGill but there will plenty of room beside him for minutes, it's a process of learning who those next impact players are going to be.

Here's what coach Hendrickson had to say

As you reflected upon it, is there a highlight or two that stands out from last season?

Had a nice year – played a great game vs West Fargo at our place for a win and then I think we hit a wall, struggled the rest of the year.

Did you take your team to any camps this past Summer?

We attended multiple team camps this year due to not having any the previous year. We had a nice summer with lots of growing and getting better.

Zunekia McGill has gotten some college interest this Fall. What has he brought to your team & how has he improved over the years?

Diamond (Zunekia) is going to be our leader both on and off the court – great kid. He is what a student/athlete is supposed to be. Great grades, homecoming king, teachers all talk about him etc…His leadership this summer really stood out – he has become a better shooter and a much better athlete.

Who are some of the other players that you anticipate stepping into expanded roles?

Will Lacher – played football for the first time and is only going to help him be a better basketball player James Hamilton – has put time in the weight room and playing basketball so we should see improvement on his part Kolby Jones – leadership and toughness comes from him

Is there a certain aspect of the game that you think will be the strength of your team?

With so many newcomers we are in a wait and see mode. I like our attitude and effort so far. To boil it all down, what would make the upcoming season a successful one?

Hard work – with so many young players this year we will wait and see how things go.

Thanks again coach!
