The final preseason game for the Purple was littered with guys who will be on the practice squad and who will be waiting for phone calls from the other leagues. The ones who did see action in the game and are likely to be on the 53 after the cuts are made got through the action unscathed which is just about the best thing we could have learned!
Jaren Hall's effort may have pushed him ahead of the 53 man on Saturday morning but I think the best thing for the team to do is to not keep three quarterbacks right away. If he gets signed elsewhere and develops as they envisioned when MN selected him that would sting. But it's going to be McCarthy's show as soon as next season so having another young quarterback is less of a priority than a possible contributor on multiple phases this season.
If Darnold and Mullins go down the season would be done anyway so unless Matt Corral has been less impressive than a piece of sheetrock, he'll do fine as the emergency.

While we wait for all of that to unfold the postulating has continued to increase about the NDSU/Colorado game. The signature college football preview show was unanimous in picking the winner, with "Prime" as the choice. The surprise being that none of the prognosticators went with the upset but that only makes it more of a Saturday special in the mold of Montana St. over New Mexico.
Thursday will be here in no time at all!

To those beginnings came a beginning of the end as the Redhawks clinched the third playoff spot in the West. The four-win week pulled them a single loss behind Winnipeg and Sioux Falls. With seven road games to go on the schedule it's shaping up to be a classic finish for tops in the division!

The Birds also had it announced that they will be the host for the 2025 Association All-Star game for the first time!

NDSU soccer also continued their positive start to the year, beating Alabama St. in the home opener 3 - 0.

High school football also got underway this week in North Dakota, with Davies win over Century going as the best statement from right in town while Kindred claimed the best outcome in the state, beating #2 Velva/Drake/Anamoose!
