With the weeks of the regular season winding down each outcome becomes more and more significant. In the race for the EDC titles no place could boast having more impact Friday than the Davies high gym.
The girls went first and Davies set the tone from the tip forcing 20 turnovers in the first half en route to a 34 point lead. West Fargo was better able to manage the pressure in the second half but could not crack the code on how to close the gap.
Karly Franks, Ashton Safranski & Ava Wild finished with 15 points each for Davies.
Jessica Walsvik had a team-high 9 points for West Fargo.
The second game started with a similar formula as the Eagles jumped out to an early double-digit lead but West Fargo trimmed it down to 40 - 33 before the break. After being lead by Carson Hegerle & Brett Limke with 11 each in the first half Foday Sheriff came alive with a 24-point second half. West Fargo needed every bit of the production and then some as Ian Motschenbacher & Mason Klabo continued to hit shots on the opposite end. As time wound down Brett Limke heated back up with some definitively clutch scoring. A few missed free throws kept the door open for Davies down the stretch but even then the interior defense did enough to secure the victory.
Foday Sheriff's game-high 32 was accompanied by 23 from Carson Hegerle & 21 by Brett Limke.
Ian Motschenbacher finished with 28 points while Mason Klabo had 16. Alex Proctor added 15, including a couple slams and Kaden Braaflat had 12.
