Following up what was a mostly underwhelming draft class, the Vikings brain trust needs to return to their 2015 form and find several players. In case you need a refresher
Round 1, Pick 11: CB Trae Waynes
Round 2, Pick 13: LB Eric Kendricks
Round 3, Pick 24: DE Danielle Hunter
Round 5, Pick 10: WR Stefon Diggs
Now that two full seasons have past on them, it's not as shiny of a pick pack as it seemed after year one but getting four players with long term potential isn't anything to scoff at. Could have been even better if Clemmings & Pruitt had come through better but that doesn't seem likely, with the Vikings at least.
By comparison, the 2016 was abysmal. Jayron Kearse & David Morgan were the only ones who had measurable impact in any games this year. Mackensie Alexander got some run but didn't impress while Laquon Treadwell barely saw the field. Not quite toilet worthy but a sorry lot.
But we move forward
The Vikings currently have eight picks. The first rounders with Philly but the pair of picks in the third & fourth may be enough capital to move back up. I know that mock drafting is mostly about the fun and banter but hypothetical trades of draft picks is overkill. So for this exercise, I'm going with the eight picks that are assured them if the draft started today.
The slotting of the draft picks won't happen until later which only supports an approach of going from the bottom up. But before going any further on the draft picks, it's important to figure out the level of priority to assign to the different position groups.

There's about six week until the draft so I'll take a beat on going any further until there's some consensus on the draft priority.
