A pair of sub-five-win teams squaring off may not seem exciting on the surface. Add in the lack of a shot-clock and maybe that could compound the troubles. Well, when the Fosston Greyhounds visited Park Christian for boys Basketball on Thursday night that was exactly the situation but I can't say that it wasn't an exciting event. The Falcons got the lead early in the game and held onto it for most of the first half but thanks to some timely offense, Fosston managed to head into the locker room tied at 29.
After the break, Park scored six quick points to retake the lead, which they extended into a 23-11 run, in just over six minutes. The Greyhounds countered that with their own 24-13 run, including five straight points with less than three minutes remaining to make it a 1 point game, 65-64. With each team in the double bonus, it came down to which team could play efficiently enough to finish with the victory. In this case, that meant hitting free-throws and the Falcons took advantage of their repeated trips to the line before time expired.
Final Score
Park Christian 75, Fosston 67
Fosston was lead by Kyle Jacobson with 18 and 16 from Trey Boushee. Park finished with a game-high 29 from Tanner Brunsberg and 25 from Jonah Williams.
