The first day of the season and we're beginning this year's series with the regular season champs from last Winter.
Davies will have as many new faces contributing as any team in the state on either level but the talent may still be there for them to continue their run near the top of the East, we just don't know all the names yet.
What are some of the highlights of last season for your team?
"The biggest highlight that we had was getting to coach a group of seniors that were very special to the Davies Basketball program. Another highlight is the 4th straight Division EDC regular-season champions."
With as much turnover as you have from the last senior class how do you plan on building upon what you taught last season?
"Our JV had a great season last year. They ended the season with only 1 loss and they got to practice against the best team in the EDC every day. Hopefully that will benefit them coming into this upcoming season."
What effect do you think the lack of summer camp & extra workouts will have on your players?
"This will have a big effect on players. They did get a modified AAU season, but with the lack of time spent in the gym during the summer and fall months there could be an impact on play this upcoming season." How have you seen Owen Hektner improve over the years?
"Owen has played up every year since he was a 9th grader. He played with a very talented senior group of players last year, so it will be exciting for him to come out of the shadows and shine this year. Look for a big year this year by Owen!" Is there a certain aspect of the game that you think will be the strength of your team?
"We will be completely opposite of last year’s team. We were really big last year and this year we will be small but extremely quick and athletic. I'm looking forward to coaching this group of kids." How have the new leaders shown those qualities to you in the past?
"The leaders in our program are still trying to emerge as leaders. We need some players to step up this year and do a good job with setting examples in practice that can carry over to games."
