Easter Sunday Roundup

Vikings

This week was the calm before the draft storm. I released the final mock draft of the year but other than that, we wait!

Bison

The highlight of the week for the Bison was the unveiling of the Tharaldson Park. A part of the debut was a loss to South Dakota State to snap their 20 game winning streak. All they did after that was start another streak with a sweep of South Dakota in shutout fashion.

Elsewhere in the herd, the Baseball team took on the perennial power in the Summit league and could only scratch out one win. At the same time, the Track & Field team's were getting work in on the West Coast with our mountain, Payton Otterdahl, continuing to ascend on the world stage of throwing objects! Which leaves the women's Golf team as they began the Summit League Championship today in Kansas.

Dragons

The Dragons Softball team sandwiched the week with mixed results, to put it as best I can. They lost 3 of 4 between Monday & Tuesday then did it again on Friday & Saturday. The second win came against Wayne State and they run ruled them so that's something to feel good about...

Meanwhile the Track & Field units put in work out Long Beach, CA way in a litany of different events. No one of them stood out above the rest but if your curious about the results, here you go!

Cobbers

As the temps continued to rise, the losses continued to mount for Concordia. Of the 12 combined games that the Baseball & Softball teams geared up for, the Baseball team managed both of the wins. In the event that you want a little more salt in your wound, the scheduled matches that were played out by the Tennis team's also went poorly.

The bright side may be that the women's Track & Field team had some positive outcomes. Don't believe me? See for yourself!

Twins

A week that started with the loss of a 4 game series to the lowly Blue Jays ended with a sweep of the Orioles. Not that Baltimore's team is significantly better but that's a good way to rebound! As thing's stand, I'll give them to the end of May before seriously considering ignoring them for most of another season. If they keep playing .500 or better ball then that deadline will continue to move and hopefully will never come to fruition!

Force

Title defense's are tough in every sport and league. The Force found that out and then some as they couldn't make it out of Des Moines with a victory. It doesn't take anything away from the previous year's accomplishment and in fact I think it adds some shine to that trophy!

High School Sports

A few games took place at venues around the Valley before the holiday weekend set in. The only one such event that I made it to was the defending champions of North Dakota girl's Soccer visiting Fargo South. The Eagles ended with a relative flurry of goals to win 4-0 but the score was half that and less for much of the time. To see photos from the game, check out the gallery!
