A grab bag of fantasy discussion.
(in case the logo wasn't clear enough)
Got a pair of questions related to the newly-named starter in CHI, so merge them into one: Jalen Hurts or Justin Fields or Kirk Cousins in week 3?
First start rookies are far from a sure thing. If you want to go with Fields you'll be hoping for a rushing score and enough passing competency to not dampen it with an interception. If it were me, I'd look at the available QBs instead of going with either one, but between the two I would opt for Hurts while not feeling great about it.
As for Cousins or Fields, the former just out-rushed Kyler Murray while having his longest run as a pro. I cannot in good conscience count on that to happen again this week but with a dinged-up Dalvin Cook, Cousins could find his way to a touchdown on the ground against Seattle. Tack that on to the yardage through the air he will have with his flourishing trio of receivers and the second choice is much easier to make!
Josh Allen vs WFT or Dak vs PHI on MNF this week?
As good as Josh Allen is proving to be after his break-out 2020 season, Prescott is a safer choice this week.
With week 3 hours from beginning, trade talk has begun to fire up
Keeper League, Give Lamb, Get C. Carson/Singletary/Higgins
The 3 for 1 angle is appealing, especially if you need running back help on your roster. It boils down to Higgins vs Lamb for me. Tee isn't getting the volume of Ceedee but he has managed to make more of his opportunities so far. As Burrow continues to develop rapport the Bengal Tiger could shred defenses & make it a no-lose proposition. But now & later having one guy who can possibly outscore two or three is too much to surrender. So while I like the offer, I would hold on to the Star.
Gronk, Claypool & Kareem Hunt for Deebo Samuel & Austin Ekeler?
The question didn't mention whether it's a PPR league but either way, upgrading TE while adding two other guys who have shown they can put up points makes it a fairly easy choice - trade.
With another championship-hopefully team on deck, Detroit will likely find itself behind again this week. Which would mean that Jared Goff will be chasing points for the third start game. At a price of only 5,700 he could prove to be a bargain, especially if you're playing Super Flex!
But that's all for now.
Until next week, happy Fantasy hunting!
