A mixed bag of fantasy discussion.
In case the logo wasn't clear enough
Start 2, Sit 2: Terry Mclaurin, Will Fuller, Ju-Ju Smith Schuster & DJ Moore?
Easy part first - of DJ Moore's 32 targets this year, 22 came in the first two weeks. SO, he could be in for a bounce-back against the perpetually listless Atlanta squad OR Bridgewater will keep spreading the ball around. If you feel like gambling, give him a start, but I don't think I would. On the other end of the spectrum is McLaurin. He's gotten a strong target share every game so far and managed to torch the stout Baltimore defense last Sunday so he may be entering QB-proof territory. With the Rams as one of the top offenses in the league again Washington will have to pass to keep up so he's a sure start. Which leaves the two in the middle. Ju-Ju is far less likely to be the one who bites you with an in-game injury but Pittsburgh's offense is far more balanced than Houston's so I would lean the way of the Golden Domer.
Final Answer: Start McLaurin & Fuller.
Help me, Jerick McKinnon or Todd Gurley?
McKinnon has finally settled into a viable role with San Fran. And Miami is not a great defense, so if your gut instinct is to go with him, there's no argument here. But Gurley has resembled his former self now that he's back home. Strangely, his worst point production came with his most rush attempts so there is some touchdown dependence to him, but the same could be said for McKinnon. Between these two I don't think there is a wrong choice, but I'd go with Gurley.
Devante Parker or Darius Slayton for a flex full PPR this week?
Fitzmagic can whirl his wand and conjure a viable fantasy game any given Sunday. That's the only reason I can think of to consider Parker against San Fran, even as battered as that defense is. Meanwhile, Dallas has been a sieve to most 1 & 2 receivers so far this year. If Daniel Jones & the G-men are going to have a get-right game then this is about as good of a time as they will have for it.
Jimmy Graham or Evan Engram?
Graham did ok in the first week of Nick Foles and he may be in line for even more against Tampa but for most of the same reasons that I picked Slayton in the last question, I think Engram is the right choice.
Which defense would y’all rather have going forward, Chargers or Cardinals?
Arizona is a more attractive option this week, with the broken-down war-planes on the docket. But since you asked for more than just this week, San Diego's team has those same decrepits then Miami, Jacksonville & Las Vegas ahead of their bye-week. Their schedule tightens up after that but even then they get Denver & Las Vegas in the semi-final weekend. So there will be worse options than the Bolts!
My guy, Rodrigo Blankenship has finally surpassed 50% ownership but he's still sub-54%. Come on people, the dude deserves better!
BUT since he's above the threshold, a different name is in the hopper. As the last man standing in Philadelphia, Greg Ward has fantasy ownership viability. In all three of his good games, he's gotten at least 7 targets and he's managed to make good on those opportunities. And with shootouts on the horizon for those birds, you'll thank me later.
Jordan Howard.
With the exception of touchdown-only leagues, Jordan Howard does not deserve to be on any rosters. His current 70% ownership-rate is appalling.
He doesn't have the cache of many of the quarterbacks being started more often than him, but Daniel Jones has a juicy matchup this week which could tip the scales in your matchup whether you do 1 or 2 quarterbacks.
Being that Tennessee can't seem to get its act together, their players are all toxic again this week. Hopefully they play, but I don't think it's likely so be prepared!
Both Slayton & Engram were considered with $5,500 & $5,200 price tags this week but after digging even deeper, a different player was chosen. For only $4,900 in a division game, Sammy Watkins is a sneaky good option as Kansas City hooks Las Vegas. The last time he was mentioned on here he finished with 21.5 points, so it's a test.
But that's all for now.
Until next week, happy Fantasy hunting!
