Horace

The new kids on the block will start the season in North Fargo against the resurgent Spartans on the first day of games. That could prove to be their most challenging contest until an October visit by Jamestown but absent any seniors, success this Fall will have several different barometers. If the West Fargo well continues to produce as it has recently then these Hawks may soar sooner than most would expect or predict!

Would you share a few highlights of the development process from the previous years?

It’s been two year and there has been a lot of growth. Our highlights have been the growth of numbers in our program/ the facilities that have began to finish/ and the talent that is developing.

Who are some of the players that people should be aware of this season? How have they shown they may be ready to compete in 11A?

To be honest we haven’t proven anything yet. We went from 1-6 freshman year to 5-4 as a JV. However, the really good kids will have already been on Varsity. We have stayed busy by going to a Varsity team camp this summer at VCSU and it was a great learning curve for us. We have a plenty of players who are looking to make a splash this year such as Dylan Johnson/Gavin Olson/Charlie Leshovsky/Asher Kranz/Blake Johnson/Gage Filloon with a few more.

Who are some of the players that have shown leadership qualities?

Isaac Christensen and Asher Kranz have shown great leadership qualities for us. Isaac is a multi-sport athlete who shows up for everything. Asher is more of our vocal leader who is not afraid to hold kids accountable.

Is there anything else you would like people to know about your team going into the season?

There is so much to cover as the inaugural season for the Hawks. The biggest thing is we are young as we do not have seniors, but our kids work hard and don’t quit. With all the growth in Horace and the facilities that will be in place, it is certainly an exciting time to be a Hawk. A real credit for these Juniors who are laying the groundwork for years to come.
