Friday Night Vent

The best first half of any game this season gave way to another nightmare. For all the talk of the brain trust being changed Zimmer might just retire after all the mess that this season has been. Dalvin Cook dazzled in a game that should be mentioned when he's up for hall of fame consideration. There haven't been many players in the history of the League that missed just one game after a dislocated shoulder then set a new personal best in their primary responsibility - H.O.F..

Everyone pretty well knew that the sky is the limit for the offense but what Cook did surpassed the wildest of expectations. Now they get the second longest break of the season which can only help Thielen & Darrisaw's recoveries as well as the many defensive players that have been ailing off & on lately.

A loss would have made things much, much simpler but showing the fight when it mattered most is what they will continue to need for however long their season goes. Didn't think of it at the time but it is fitting that the game winning play happened on defense. Since, ya know, the defense is the question mark of the team. So perhaps the combo-knockdown by Woods & Smith will be the catalyst that they need to not just be a talented & disparate bunch.

You have about as good a chance at winning the lottery as you do having a grasp on this team's capability from week to week & quarter to quarter. It would be sort of fun if it weren't so annoying.

Until the next time, enjoy a stress-free Sunday!
