The 10 š players are of most interest to the highest amount of people & I'll get to them in a second, but NDSU has done a great job producing players in several other sports. As updates come out of their exploits around the world, they will be included in the weekly series. So subscribe, like & follow so you don't miss out on the details!
The pig-skin pros got most of the shine this week, but not all of it.
Career-highs & career-firsts manifested as the highlights this past weekend for the Sunday-work crew.
Jacksonville got a championship contender for the second week in a row but Pittsburgh had much less trouble than Green Bay. During the game Ben Ellefson was on the field for 38 plays. From those came his first catch of three targets, for 10 yards in his third game. It may be meager but that's progress!
Darrius Shepherd also got to a new plateau over the weekend. His 7 kickoffs totaled 138 yards, both career highs, in Green Bay's 34-31 overtime loss to Indianapolis. To-date, Shepherd has 279 all-purpose yards.
The third member of this week's best-of, Chris Board got a shot on Ryan Tannehill during Baltimore's overtime loss to Tennessee. He finished the day with 43 snaps, 20 on defense & 23 on special teams, as well as registered a tackle along the way.
Carson Wentz completed 60% of his passes for 235 yards with two touchdowns as Philadelphia was beaten by Cleveland. He now has 2,326 yards with 14 touchdowns and interceptions this year.
His former protector Joe Haeg was limited to five plays on Monday night as Tampa lost to Los Angeles R.
Derrek Tuszka (Hamstring) & Kyle Emmanuel (concussion) are both still on injured reserve. DT is eligible for activation at any time and KE is days away from the same possibility.
While Zach Johnson remains on Green Bay's practice squad, Easton Stick was inactive once again for San Diego.
Which leaves the non-football pro who had a highlight play like many he made while donning the Green & Gold.
