The 10 🏈 players are of most interest to the highest amount of people & I'll get to them in a second, but NDSU has done a great job producing players in several other sports. As updates come out of their exploits around the world, they will be included in the weekly series. So subscribe, like & follow so you don't miss out on the details!
The pig-skin pros were good again but they took a back seat this week!
For the second week in a row Chris Board got his most playing time. After getting on the field for 56 plays last week, he was in for 59 yesterday against Cleveland as the culmination of his second start. 32 of the plays were on defense, with the rest being on special teams. Board got a pair of solo tackles and put a hit on Baker Mayfield
The second best was the continued streak of starts by Billy Turner with Green Bay. This week he was at right guard and he was on the field for all 67 plays against Detroit.
Derrek Tuszka was on the field for 18 snaps against Carolina, 17 on special teams and he finished with one tackle.
Joe Haeg faced his home state team and was on the field for 10 plays, five on offense and five on special teams.
Kyle Emanuel also chipped in on special teams, with a season-high 18 plays against Chicago.
Neither of the quarterbacks got on the field this past weekend. Carson Wentz was active but remained on the sideline in Philadelphia's win while Easton Stick was inactive against Atlanta.
Ben Ellefson had his second week on injured reserve.
Zach Johnson remains on Green Bay's practice squad while Darrius Shepherd is still unsigned after being released by GB.
But then came the headliner
Overcoming the weather, the odds and the personal grief that follows a loved-one passing, Amy Olson came one stroke from forcing a playoff in the Women's US Open. With a birdie on the 18th hole, Olson finished in a tie for second after the winner closed with three straight birdies to win. It was another champions effort in Texas (the event was played in the Houston area) by a Bison great. It was the second time in her professional career that she's knocked on the door of a title.
