The 10 🏈 players are of most interest to the highest amount of people & I'll get to them in a second, but NDSU has done a great job producing players in several other sports. As updates come out of their exploits around the world, they will be included in the weekly series. So subscribe, like & follow so you don't miss out on the details!

The pig-skin pros get most of the shine this week, but not all of it!

For the second week in a row Chris Board's team had to wait the longest to play, but the third year special teamer/reserve linebacker used the time to get ready for another good day on the field. Against Dallas he logged a career-high 56 plays, 37 of which came on defense, two ahead of the 54 that he was on the field for against Indianapolis. His time on the field translated into a pair of solo tackles and one hit on Andy Dalton.

On the opposite sideline from Carson Wentz, Billy Turner was moved inside from right tackle to guard. It didn't interrupt his flow as he went 61 for 61.

But then came the bad news.

Well, some of it came prior to kickoff as Green Bay released Darrius Shepherd.

During the game Wentz was benched in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts, who has now been named the starter against New Orleans. It's been speculated about for weeks, but the issues in Philly would be nearly impossible for any quarterback to overcome so Wentz may not spend all of the next four weeks as a bystander.

In what would have been a near-homecoming, Ben Ellefson was designated to the injured reserve prior to Jacksonville's game against Minnesota.

After a few weeks off the field, Kyle Emanuel was able to return from his stint on the IR against Indianapolis. He was on the field for five special teams plays.

Similarly, Derrek Tuszka will be returning from the reserve list any day now for Denver.

Joe Haeg's Tampa team was on their bye week and Easton Stick was inactive for San Diego.

And lest she not be overlooked any longer, Amy Olson has continued her run on the LPGA. Since the end of July she has made the weekend in all but one of the 12 events she played in. Her best finish came in August when she tied for seventh, but then just a few weeks ago she was in the top 15 again.
