Another one-score game
Another step toward equaling the improbability that was the 2022 season
We've seen Kirk Cousins be better than he was today in terms of production but in terms of commanding the offense he's rarely been better. It came in a loss and he's still in the last year of his contract so there's no telling what the long-term implications will be but as he & Addison continue to build their rapport the entire offense will improve.
Problems is, we've already hit the 1/3 mark of the season so baby steps don't cut it.
So it was less a lesson than a display of what we already have gotten to see - Addison was the right pick & looks as though he will be an excellent compatriot for Justin Jefferson!
For the second straight game we also got to see what the defense can be when it is at full strength. If not for the fumble to start the game, the suspect pass interference call on Harrison Smith and a poor showing by O'Connell during several key in-game scenarios they may have given up considerably less than the 27 points. It was one thing to shut Carolina down as well as they did but to limit the champs even that much is the best notch for them so far!
With Chicago on deck for next Sunday the defense's progress will become a certified trend and then they will face another Championship contender when San Francisco visits.
As the saying goes, it's getting late early but with all six division games remaining, the path of the season is still very much undecided. As we lament so many of the things that have taken place today and over all the games so far this season - keep that mind.

In black & white fashion, there's no where to go but up as far as the season while today's game wasn't good but could have been worse.
