Houston Delight

Three for three

THREE FOR THREE

With a quarterback no one really wanted, injuries to several stars and a daunting stretch through the early portion of the schedule. The team is almost halfway to it's projected season win total.

Vegas isn't always right

and the spectacular beginning to the 2024 has them in position to reach the playoffs possibly going 6-8 the rest of the way.

I don't want that

Since you're reading this I'm thinking you don't either

The team certainly doesn't want to settle for a wildcard spot when they are playing like a number 1 seed!

But that is already the floor for the rest of the season and it needs to be recognized.

One week removed from a 10-carry, 16-touch day that snapped his 100 yard streak, Aaron Jones quietly piled-up 24 touches and just shy of a 150 total yards. With his return to Green Bay on the horizon he could have been looking ahead but the production does not tell that tale. On the contrary, it seems like he is getting his season legs under him and will be every bit the dynamic option that has been missing since Cook departed.

He was already playing well in games 1 and 2 but as a player closer to the end of his playing career than the beginning it's great to see progression.

But for all that the offense accomplished they won't be the talker around the coffee pot Monday morning.

Nope, Flores' defense will be the talk of the whole football nation tonight, tomorrow and for days beyond with what they're doing to teams expected to contend!

The interceptions by Grugier-Hill and Cam Bynum are harbingers of the impact that the scheme was having on the young quarterback who had gone nearly half a season without such a throw

But two is not the number

28 might be

As in 28% conversion on third downs

38 would also be in the mix

(The net rushing yard total on 14 attempts)

Perhaps 11 for 88 would tickle your fancy - the penalty and yardage total that Houston tallied

And of course the number 1 for the solitary score by Stroud's attack.

Jonathan Greenard lead the way with his three sacks but however you want to chop it up, it was a whoopin by the whole defense!

Getting that to go a long with an offense and special teams that can put up 34 points in 11 possessions should have them in the conversation for best team in the League.

While still being without several of their best players so good, great, fantastic is going to get better!

A+

A+

It's been an A+ with the highest possible Grade Point Average that can be earned. For the purposes of this I'll call it a perfect 10.

We're on an '09-type run, enjoy it!!
