As the supposed underdogs in this cross-divisional showdown, the pressure was on Lisbon to start fast & impose their will.
In short, they succeeded.
But read on anyway!
Their first drive consumed the first five minutes of the game and finished with Jordan Sours all but levitating as he held the ball over the line. See the gallery for proof! The Central Cass punt on the ensuing possession allowed Lisbon to keep their foot on the gas.
And it only took one play.
Sours for 80 yards, about 70 of which no one else was even parallel to him. 16-0 & in full control.
Central Cass had some openings to remain within striking distance but a penalty, other mistake or a play by Lisbon's defense prevented them from putting up any points until the fourth quarter, by which time Lisbon had added another eight points.
Bronco quarterback Hunter Schultz closed out the scoring with a touchdown dive of his own midway through the fourth.
The Squirrels touchdown came through the air, to Will Ellison.
Lisbon 32, Central Cass 6
With 237 yards & 3 touchdowns it's an easy choice:
Jordan Sours
