Following a back & forth first half that finished with Moorhead ahead 39 - 29 Fargo South showed a fortitude that could serve them well in the future of their season. With a 12 - 3 run they trimmed the Spuds advantage to a single point. So it seemed that the two teams would continue to take & retake the lead through the duration. But Moorhead made their next statement with full-court pressure. The shots they made in conjunction put them ahead 15 at the halfway point and the lead grew beyond that.
So the Bruins had the choice to hibernate or tap into the resilience one more time. Sophomore James Hamilton & Diamond McGill lead the way in providing an answer. Hamilton's one three of the game pulled them back within nine then a goal-tending call on a McGill attempt cut it to 70 - 65. Emblematic of the other end during the comeback, Hunter Wachenheim got a shot to fall, on the third attempt within three feet of the basket. And so the outcome continued to be within either team's reach as South had more of it's roster become unavailable. Already without Kolby Jones for the whole game, McGill became the second Bruin to foul out. Along with that, Moorhead hit a few more shots down the stretch to hold onto the win.
Moorhead was lead by Adam Jenkins with 23 while getting double-figures from Wachenheim (16), Mekhi Elmore (12), Colton Hagen & Dylan Zimmerman (10 each).
James Hamilton finished with 27, 23 in the second half. Diamond McGill had 21 while Evan Booth, D'Andre Watson & Reis Kessel all chipped in repeatedly
