To the final minute of the first-half Moorhead played West Fargo nearly shot-for-shot. If not for a single make from behind the arc during the final seconds, the Spuds would have gone in down only seven. As it was, they went in down 10. Not bad for their first minutes against a different team, especially when that other team has already well-earned the #1 spot in the state.
Moorhead got the difference back under 10 early in the second half but West Fargo used transition offense to make it a layup drill at times. With that came a quickly increasing advantage. Under seven minutes to go in the game and the Green team was ahead 17. Moorhead fought through tired legs and got the score back to within striking distance with time to spare but a pair of late-game technical fouls stymied their comeback bid.
