The last Wednesday before the real thing so it's time to mock draft!
Here is last week's edition.
Steam for a trade down continues to increase but even this close to the clock starting only a handful of people know what they want to do. If Kyle Hamilton is available tomorrow as he was during the mock then there desire for him could supersede the logic of a trade. But for the last go I'm going to pick who I want even if the odds of it actually happening are miniscule. So to keep fortifying the wall in front of the highly-compensated one:
Guard Zion Johnson (Boston College)
Pick 46 presented even more tantalizing options, including the latest North Dakota State elite player. A tandem of Jefferson & Watson would cause some problem but high-upside receivers will be available later so I went with the other thing I want:
Quarterback Matt Corral (Mississippi)
The defense also needs more additions and there are few prospects with a more diverse skillset than Montana State's Troy Anderson which is something that was easy to want! Adding a potential starting corner 80 picks later is also all kinds of desirable:
Cornerback Akayleb Evans (Missouri)
But why settle for one when two could be had?
CB Mario Goodrich (Clemson)
After the shot break it was time to go back on offense with the guy who broke Randy Moss's single game receiving yardage record.
WR Samori Toure (Nebraska)
Adding another player to develop in the room with Harrison Smith while having the potential to fill other roles was too good to pass up.
Safety Isaiah Pola-Mao (USC)
Multi-dimensionality also factored in on the last choice. Wanted a receiver and this one could be a possibility for return usage.
Kaylon Geiger (TT)
