The new GM once again traded with a hated team but via a third trade with Indianapolis was back on the clock. If this is how Mr. Analytics & Collaboration is going to handle the draft we're in for an annoying number of years.
The maneuvers did yield a good prospect at a position of need so that's the upside.
Checking in at 6 ft, 194 lbs with 31.5" arms & 9.375" hands he has the prototypical measurements. He hung up the orange with five career INTs & nine passes defensed as well as a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. His total tackle numbers are nothing to distinguish him, except that they could be a sign opposing offenses avoided his coverage. He also finished both of his last two seasons with three TFLs.
One of the main reasons he wasn't selected sooner is a long list of health issues dating back to high school. If the new medical staff is able to find a way to avoid those then he could be a steal for the Purple.
