All or Nothing

Pass or Fail

Right or Wrong

Good or Bad

Pass or Punt

Get it?

Good.

The best part of today's win is that it comes against a team that is as set at the quarterback position as any team in the league. I'm not going to predict that Houston will finish with the worst record but if they finish with a worse one than Minnesota then they'll go in a different direction. So in that way, it's a double win for the Purple!

As for the activity on the field, the offensive line struggled at times again today. There were times when Cousins was under inexcusable pressure. But there were also times that he had sufficient protection and he made the most of it. Jefferson's second-week of breakout production accompanied by Thielen & Cook doing what they do made #8's job even easier. It was the sort of afternoon that earned him all of his big contracts but the ugly duckling is not going to become a swan at any point, don't be fooled.

As for the tremendous trio, they were the first to surpass 100 yards each since the 2000 team. That group had 2 HOFs. It's way too early to even wonder whether this one can be that great but for one day they can be mentioned among the elite of the elite!

The defense managed to be average, but average doesn't cut it.

As for the negative, Harrison's ejection tops the list.

I get that the league is wisely trying to get those sorts of hits out of the game but it was a severe overreaction. Officials should never be the ones to decide outcomes but by that choice they directly impacted the events on the field. If he is fined later, okay - because he probably still will be - but his presence could have prevented one of HOU's touchdowns, maybe more than one. That would in turn have made an average day into something closer to the standard that Zimmer has established.

But enough hypotheticals

Which is another way of wrapping this up.

Sure, Gladney gave up another long reception but one play doesn't automatically equate to a bad day. And even though I'd like to see more from O. Johnson & IS Jr. the game planning worked for the most part today, so nitpicking would be a waste of time.
