FEATURED

S or N: Mauled

The classical definition for Slobberknocker is a literal hard hit. I'm going to play off that somewhat in a more figurative manner. While in contrast, and maybe more obviously, the Naw's are things that shouldn't have happened and/or need to change.

Total Garbage

From the quarterback to the running backs to the offensive line and basically every facet of the defense, today's 60 minutes of Football were a total waste. Chicago is a decent team with a defense that can be amongst the best. They deserve as much credit as the Vikings do blame. Or at least close to the same amount. For the second straight division game the defense had trouble getting started and the offense wasn't able to get anything going save for one drive that was woefully late.

It's only week 4 and they're still 2-2 with a pretty clear route to double-digit wins but coming up this ineptly in games that matter means that a single playoff game is about the best that this team will be able to muster. I tossed the Twins into the garbage after they didn't make the necessary additions to capitalize on a successful season. It's too early to do that with the Vikings but it would be prudent for all of the fans of the team to be prepared for another disappointing outcome.

On Wednesday I laid out the approach that I think needs to be taken with regards to the quarterback position. In short, if you missed it, they need to do a version of what Seattle did after signing Matt Flynn. It shouldn't be that way. Not with the talent all over the place but I don't see any way around it since the goal is championship or bust.

After dismal losses such as today's, I find it very cathartic to vent out about the failing. I'm disregarding the typical format this week because I don't want to spend any more time thinking about it than I have to but if you found yourself wanting to break things and yelling at the tv repeatedly today then maybe going long-form in the comments section will help you out too!
