S or N: Skinned Them

The classical definition for Slobberknocker is a literal hard hit. I'm going to play off that somewhat in a more figurative manner. While in contrast, and maybe more obviously, the Naw's are things that shouldn't have happened and/or need to change.

Home Cooking

The simple math of winning home games to make the postseason is 75% complete and the Vikings 6-0. It hasn't been all sunshine and roses in all six wins but can't argue with the results! With two of the final three games in the Purple Palace, there is still a good chance to jump the East border team for the division crown. If today's game can become the trend the rest of the way then the chance gets REALLY good.

Thanks Cous

80% completions on his 30 pass attempts, remember week 1? Also, 242 yards and 1 touchdown with no interceptions or fumbles. Gimme that on repeat EVERY SINGLE GAME. More would be great but I'll take exactly what he did today and so should you!

The Braidy Bunch

Speaking of things that would be pleasant every week - 139 yards from scrimmage with a pretty touchdown run by the MVP candidate. Cook can do all that by himself but I think it's better for the offense when it's a group effort.

Rise Up D

If I was convinced or even thought it was likely that today's effort by the defense was going to be the norm the rest of the way it would have been the A-topic without a doubt. I gave it serious consideration anyway. Through 3-quarters they held Detroit under 100 yards and to zero points. Make jokes all you want but that's a professional Football team that they suffocated today. Sure, they tailed off at the end, but still finished with some impressive numbers. Now do it again!

The Poacher

Maybe you missed it somehow but Danielle Hunter made league history today with his first sack and then followed it up with two more. In the recorded history of the league none of the tremendous pass-rushers have had as many sacks a month past their 25th birthday. Undoubtedly it helps that he came into the league being about as young as he could have been. He's been productive since day one and is just starting to solidify HOF credentials. I'm not saying the title should be his nickname but it's past time that he gets one to match his ability!

The Lone Ranger

It's beginning to feel like Adam Thielen isn't going to play again this year. I hope that's an overreaction but he's still barely practicing and time is running low. Fortunately & surprisingly, Treadwell has helped to pick up some of the slack but as the lone primary option of the passing game, Stefon Diggs continues to get the job done. His catch along the sideline was some Cris Carter type stuff and he'll have to keep performing that way I suspect.

It's not an all-encompassing wrap of the pros and cons to extract from today's game but I think these are the main takeaways!
