On the last day of the year Shanley started the game like they didn't want the year to end. They jumped out 7-0 and maintained the advantage for most of the half.
It wasn't until a Barika Kpeenu started firing that Sheyenne closed the gap and ultimately took the lead - after a made three by Kpeenu with three minutes to go. That score helped them reel off 10 points while surrendering only two before heading into the locker room ahead 34-28.
When play resumed the teams traded scores before Sheyenne went on an 8-2 run spanning 4.5 minutes that Shanley couldn't dig out of. That lead to a final score that isn't indicative of how close the teams played.
