Foreword to Moorhead

You may be asking why a preview is being released when the season was just pushed back to a March start?

Beyond the fact that Football is now & forever will be a Fall sport, the potential of the same concerns still existing in February is not being ignored. So instead of letting coach Feeney's comments go to waste, the original plan is being executed.

Coming off of a state tournament appearance and with a quarterback set to continue playing in Grand Forks, it was great to read what his thoughts!

Is there a memory or two that really stands out as the highlight(s)?

"We ended a 25 plus year drought of winning in Brainerd - the win went on to propel us into winning our section."

How do you hope to build on what you accomplished last Fall?

"Our kids believe we can be a great team this fall with the amount of experience we have returning. Unfortunately, our season ended on a hail mary pass - which has motivated our kids this off-season. These kids are a very tight group and have had a tremendous preparation in strength and speed development."

As for the current situation, how have social distancing and the other limitations affected your players?

"We have followed our district's requirements by taking temps every day along with symptom checks."

What effects do you think the changes will have on field, especially early in the season?

"With the veteran group we have returning, we should be able to overcome any modifications to practice or games."

What do you think your roster's strengths will be?

"Skilled positions on offense, we return our QB, RB (3 of them) 4 of the top 5 WR, our TE and 3 O-Lineman. Defensively, we return 2 ILB, 1 OLB, 2 DL, 2 DBs - Overall Team Speed is as good as we have had in our time in Moorhead."

Which players do you anticipate stepping into expanded roles?

"Jack Teiken, Austin Altepeter, George Nyanforth"
