Vikings

Bison

The Bison's week started with the women's Golf team finishing in fifth place at the Coeur d'Alene Invitational in Idaho.

On Friday, the Volleyball team traveled to Brookings but came home with a 3-1 loss to their record.

A Football free Saturday still had plenty of activity on the docket. Both halves of the Cross-Country team competed in the U of M's Roy Griak Invitational. The men finished in ninth place while the women took seventh and had the fifth-best time by Kelby Anderson. The Soccer team traveled to Utah but came up one goal short against Utah Valley, 3-2.

Today the Volleyball team returned to the court against Omaha but the Mavericks won 3-1.

Dragons

The Golf team started the week with an edging of Concordia by two strokes.

On Friday, the Cross Country teams each took first place at the NSIC Preview. The Soccer team hosted Sioux Falls but lost 1-0 while the Volleyball team traveled there but were also shutout.

From there the Volleyball team traveled to Marshall only to go scoreless a second time. Back in Moorhead, the Football team built a big lead over the University of Mary which they were able to hang on to down the stretch of the contest.

The Soccer team closed out the week with yet another loss, 2 - 1.

Cobbers

Concordia's week started with the aforementioned narrow loss to Moorhead State.

The Volleyball team followed that up on Wednesday with a 3-1 loss to St. Thomas.

On Saturday the Golf teams finished in third (men) and seventh (women) in the Twin Cities. The Soccer teams both traveled to Carleton but only managed one goal between them while giving up five and neither ended in a draw. The women's Tennis team lost to Nebraska - Kearney 7 - 0. Meanwhile, back on campus, the Football team put together one of the best rushing performances in the history of the MIAC (530 yards) in a 51 - 0 route over Hamline.

To close out the week, the Golf teams continued play in the Twin Cities which will conclude tomorrow. Both Soccer teams hosted St. Scholastica and put identical 4 - 1 games on them. For the guys, the offense came from Sam Gess (2), Nate Weaver & Nigaba Olivier while the women rode the feet of Karsen Granning (2), Kalli Baarstad & Megan Barnick.

Force

While it's still a little too early for the ice, the Force just got underway this week in a split of their first games, winning 3-0 against Lincoln then losing 3-2 to Waterloo. They're off until the fifth and open the arena on the 11th against Omaha.

High School Sports
