NDSU's didn't start the week til Friday but after the Volleyball team took to the court, plenty of action followed. Said squad first defeated the University of Illinois - Chicago but then fell to Central Michigan. They rebounded on Saturday against Eastern Illinois before returning home from the invitational.
Meanwhile, back in Fargo, the Soccer team came up on the wrong end of a 1-0 match against Hawaii on Friday. Sunday Chicago State came to town and the ladies left the pitch with a 2-0 victory to continue a good start to the year.
Which leaves the Football team. Take a peek at their S or N to find out my thoughts on the big game!
Dragons
The week of sports and the MSUM Football season started on Thursday night on the road at Crookston. In unsurprising fashion the Dragons had little trouble doubling up the Golden Eagles in their warm up to the visit by Duluth this upcoming Saturday. It wasn't the most well played contest, even by Moorhead State but very likely served it's greater purpose.
Friday included a pair by the Volleyball team in Pennsylvania. First was against WV Wesleyan and then Edinboro, both ended in victory for Moorhead.
The Golf team battled to a victory in their first outing of the year.
Soccer played to a 0-0 tie against Nebraska - Kearney
The Cross Country teams ran to first place by the guys and fourth by the women
The Volleyball team continued their time out East with a second pair of wins on Saturday against Glenville State and Lock Haven.
The Soccer team returned to the pitch on Sunday, managing to finish the week with a win over Harding, 3-0 thanks to goals by Maren Soupir, Jensen Odegaard, & Mckenzie Ickert.

Concordia's week started with a 3-0 loss by the Volleyball team to Mayville State. That was followed by losses to UM-Morris, Northwestern MN & St. Benedict.
On Thursday the men's Soccer team hosted Morris and won 4-1 with goals by Aronah Mukhtar, Tyson Aberle, Nate Weaver & an own goal. They came back with a 5-0 defeat over Nebraska Wesleyan with goals by Weaver, Mukhtar, Sam Gess & Casey Haldis on Sunday.
The Cross Country teams finished fouth (men) and third (women) on Friday.
The women's Soccer team started their week with a 3-1 win over Northwestern MN with goals by Karsen Granning, Klara Beinhorn & Sophia Robinson. They followed that up with a 4-0 win over Northland. Granning hit a hat trick in that one with the third goal coming off the foot of Kay Franzese.
The Football team started their season with an overtime loss to Wisconsin - La Crosse. I caught the tail end of it but not nearly enough to draw a conclusion to break the tie that I have between the pros and cons of their first outcome. I said ahead of time that a close loss would have some moral victory but until Whitewater comes to town on Saturday it's an in-between situation.
Which leaves only the women's Golf team. They finished in third out of four after getting leaped by Jamestown in the second round.

Started the week with a trip to Shanley as they hosted South in Soccer. Check out the game gallery if you like either school!
Then on Friday double dipped in Football with trips to Park Christian and and Moorhead high. There were pros & cons to each game but I got good photos at each, regardless of the outcome.
Redhawks
The birds jumped out to a 2-0 series lead in the division championship series only to have St. Paul knot it up at 2 a piece with a walk-off victory tonight. Winner take all tomorrow night!
