The early days of Fall sports are well underway but all those teams couldn't match what the boys of Summer did.
Following a loss to Sioux Falls Wednesday when their offense wasn't up to the task for the first time in the Regional, the Fargo Little League team smashed Iowa to setup a Friday winner-take-all rematch against the SoDaks. It was a nail-biter until the 18th out but that just added to the memorable nature of the contest as Fargo's squad made ND history as they broke through to Williamsport!
It remains to be seen whether it will be a stroke of good fortune or not but they get to observe the first two days of the tournament from the bleachers. When they take the field Friday evening it will be against either the Southwest or Mid-Atlantic Region champions.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
At that point they will try to match what Moorhead's Babe Ruth team has already accomplished in New York as they won the opening game of their world series, 7 - 5. The Future Spuds weren't able to got 2-0 in pool play as the Mid-Atlantic champion handled them 8 - 3 Sunday afternoon.
They will be back on the field Monday afternoon.

It was also a big afternoon for the Bison, beginning with Erin Teschuk qualifying to run the 5,000m for Canada in the World Championship a week from now!

The big news continued as two long time members of the softball program were chosen for induction into the Softball Hall of Fame.

There was more coaching news from the other end of town as Fargo Force associate HC Chad Demers took a position with the fledgling operation at Augustana.

With less than three weeks til the journey to Frisco recommences, the operation finalized it's 2025 non-conference slate with a home date against SE Missouri. As of now it is set to be the first match-up of the two teams, with no visit to their place at this time. It's not a scheduling announcement that will excite many people but the fact that SEMO is willing to buck the trend and come up to Fargo is respectable!

The week also included the first look at the back-end of the Purple's roster. The Lessons were already handled but most importantly, the team got through it without any major injuries. With the goal being to assemble the best 53-man roster possible, every practice rep by every player counts so regardless of what the scoreboard said, Thursday night was a rousing success!
