Five in a row into their bye week
That's the main thing to focus on for Minnesota
Should it have gotten as close as it did? No
Was the offense the worst it's been so far? Yes
But for the second straight week the team has not been as good as they were during weeks two and three but the results were the same. By doing just enough they're creating the necessary cushion so that when the defense isn't as successful it won't tank their chance to extend the season.
With two weeks to get Aaron Jones back and also figure out how to avoid the recent slumps we'll have to wait and see how the team fares against Detroit. If there's no change at that point then more negativity will be warranted.
For now let's enjoy how much success they've mustered!

It was also a successful day at the Dome as proper order was restored between Fargo and Grand Forks!

The same can't be said as Moorhead State's football team remained on the see-saw, suffering the worst loss of the season to date.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That was the exception as Concordia trounced Carleton 31-6 while only allowing field goals to secure their third win, during which they've had nine whole points go against them. They will need to maintain and possibly even elevate their level as fifth-ranked St. John's is set to come to Moorhead this Saturday! With each among the top four in the MIAC the result is about much more than just bragging rights but could be the most important contest of the season for each side!

Cobber women's soccer also padded their record with another shutout victory over Hamline but were not able to hit their mark at least match St. Mary's lone goal Saturday. Even with the defeat they remain in the top five with a gap between themselves and sixth with six matches remaining. They will finish against St. Kate's and St. Olaf with the outcomes likely determining where they will be in the standings and whether they will have a spot in the 64-team field. With only two home matches remaining, both coming on week days, support may not increase but they are earning it!

The North Dakota boys state soccer tournament field was set and will begin in Grand Forks, Thursday at noon with top-seed West Fargo going against Williston followed by Minot/Red River (2/3), Jamestown/Sheyenne (1/4) and Davies against Legacy in the other 2/3 match to end day one.

Sheyenne also secured the top spot for the boys state tennis tournament, defeating Red River while Davies earned a spot at the state meet with a sweep of West Fargo.

Another quality week for the area sports scene!
