FEATURED

Sunday 7

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Detroit, Philadelphia and Minnesota entered week 14 in a tight pack for the top seed and the three games they were involved in provided no separation but the Purple can boast the best win with their three-turnover, 21-point victory over Kirk Cousins and Atlanta.

Unlike some of their earlier victories, they started slow today but when both the offense and defense got on track in the second half they showed what's possible. We haven't see many instances this season when both facets are clicking at the same time so to call it a welcome display is putting it mildly.

For their history-making effort Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison will get plenty of flowers this week. Likewise for Sam Darnold as he put together the best game of his career.

The quarterback had shown flashes early in the season and was on a heater coming into this game but no one knew that he could be THIS effective. It's just one play but look no further than the Mahomesian touchdown pass to Jefferson in the third quarter.

It was a statement effort and if they replicate it against Chicago, Seattle, Green Bay & most importantly Detroit, a 10-game winning streak into the postseason will be attainable. That's what they set the table for today, that's what they allowed us to see!

In similar fashion, in their postseason opener, NDSU had a slow start but when they got moving there was no chance for Abilene Christian to match them!

Not with Cam Miller taking another step toward cementing himself amongst the very best quarterbacks the university has had, in both statistics and playoff success.

Not with Logan Kopp having the game of his life, leading Code Green to clamp-down in the second half as the Wildcats only managed three possessions with a first down after the break.

It wasn't as easy as you may have wanted or as I expected but going for the 10th championship shouldn't be a walk in the park. Re-establishing supremacy should take some challenges and perhaps this was the necessary wake-up call following their bye to have them more locked-in for Mercer and potential games to follow!

They scored 51 points and held the prolific passing offense to half of their season average. It was just the third time all year that they only had one touchdown through the air. The Bison defense will need to tighten-up how they do against the run but their susceptibility to that may have been partially due to the focus on stifling ACU's strength.

So yeah, there will be things to work on but doing it following a 20-point win is certainly sweet!

A key member for the offense all season was celebrated early as Charmar Brown was named Freshman of the Year!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From the late stages of the football seasons to Moorhead State's men being regarded as a contender for March as they spent the week at number seven in the national poll.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brown wasn't the only one to be recognized for what he did, senior Reagan Baesler was named the League Cross Country Athlete of the Year.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Winter high school seasons have barely begun but Horace's boys basketball already had a new record for most points in a game as Carter Evanson scored 39 against Williston.

The first of many special moments over the next few months!
