Sunday 7

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A week of June remains ahead of us but the latest iteration of Post 2 already has some hardware to it's credit as they survived a gauntlet in Omaha to win the Creighton Prep/Jr. Jay Classic championship. However the rest of their season plays-out, it will make the target on them in North Dakota and region play that much more pronounced!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The week for the Newman Nine wasn't quite as enjoyable, losing by 15 runs to start the week. That proved to be just a blip as they recovered by winning three of the final four, as both the pitching and bats found their grooves.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Twin Cities team also ended on an up-tick, taking a series against Oakland after getting clipped by Tampa twice to start the week. Oakland helped them to six of their last seven wins, if only they could face those Athletes more often!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Baseball may be the sport of the season but NDSU track & field put a significant stamp on the week as well

Out in Oregon Payton Otterdahl muscled his way to a second-straight Olympics berth, one of only three shot putters to have the chance in France!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of Otterdahl's former coaches made his own impression, as Stevie Keller was named the League Coach of the Year for the 20th time in his tenure!

The news-making from the North continued as Polasek's operation took many steps in the assembly of their first recruiting class, including the commitment of two quarterbacks, Zander Smith (Lakeland, FL) & Preston Brown (Hillsboro, MO). The approach had long been to only bring in one main quarterback per class, and without studying hours of tape on each, that could still be the case. But it's just as likely that because of the impact of the transfer portal the new regime is going to look for more depth to cushion against departures. We're minimum three years away from knowing how this group will do on the field but the early returns continue to be all sorts of favorable for Polasek!

With only slightly more than two months until team Sanders, let's hope the trajectory remains the same!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of Fargo's best also got some big calls as Wyoming and Illinois State were among the latest to offer Mason Klabo. In terms of conference profile each surpasses what NDSU could provide but with most of the Summer remaining, I don't imagine that the hometown team is all the way out of consideration for him.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another major week for the Fargo area sports scene!
