Sunday 7

Post 400 enjoyed the transition day of the week as the winner of the strongest field yet for Post 2's Jim Pettersen tournament. It adds to the ever-upward trajectory for local baseball!

The Force also saw their future brighten as three members of the organization were selected Saturday to play at the highest level. Forwards Jake Fisher and Mac Swanson will be in Colorado and Pittsburgh respectively while incoming defenseman Matt Lahey was chosen by Toronto.

The moves won't necessarily get more people in the building during the Winter but are more proof to what they are in the midst of establishing!

The Dakota Fusion Soccer Club would like to have some whiffs of that sort of success but the women proved that they have a ways to go, losing their final two matches of the predetermined schedule.

Their men got a good result and finish Tuesday at Moorhead high as they bid to build their story as well.

The Minnesota basketball team took two potentially monstrous steps toward the highest success during their own draft, adding a pair of future ball handlers who should be able to help add scoring punch to the rotation. They will need to prove themselves just like any other players but Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Jr. will at worst elevate the level of the bottom portion of the roster. Depending on how they show-up in Las Vegas and beyond both of them could do much more than that even as the veteran status of the roster remains!

That followed the team securing Chris Finch to a four year contract, which could culminate in him taking the baton as the franchises' best coach.

The hot and cold ball-club from the other Target took four of their six and both series as they continue to battle Kansas City and chase Cleveland in the standings. They have caught something of a break as Detroit has finally begun to show the cracks that were expected of them prior to the games beginning.

But with the blackout continuing they will remain a footnote to the Summer.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's a bit of a similar story for the Redbirds as they have just one win less than West Division-leading Sioux Falls while the other four teams remain at 23 wins or fewer.

With two months to go in the season it's shaping up to also be full of excitement!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

NDSU football also added another to it's wall of pros as Zach Mathis was drafted by Edmonton. It may not be the side of the Northern border that he wanted to continue playing on but could be the doorway to opportunities in the States down the line so shouldn't be disparaged.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another significant week for the Fargo area sports scene!
