Two sunsets shy of Fall's first month but the collision of seasons is already well underway.
After months of speculation, the latest Danielle Hunter offseason situation came to an end Sunday morning with a nearly 300% increase in his contract value. If he comes through with a season to match the deal then he will be back as a likely future member of the team's hall-of-fame. Even if that happens this season may be his last one at Vikesborg & the Palace, what with the other high priority contracts that will need to be handled with players at or before their primes - not on the downside of it.
As for the immediate impact, Flores has the top threat of the defensive front ready to go with most of training camp remaining to play catch-up.

On the other end of the see-saw, the Baseball Team got stank-booted for five straight losses against Seattle & Kansas City.
In case you haven't been following too closely, Seattle is in the mix for the West while Kansas City needed those victories to move ahead of dreadful Oakland in the cellar of the League.
If there is a rock-bottom to the season we may have just witnessed it.
With the trade deadline on Aug 1 it only further muddies the waters for the team's leadership, even as the team continues to hang on to the top spot in the division.

It wasn't all bad from the diamond as Post 2 took care of business in Dickinson with a 16 - 7 win over Williston. They will face the loser of the Minnesota championship at high-noon on Wednesday, with the tournament to go until Sunday.

Fargo may have been put on notice for the future of local baseball as state tournaments for four of the younger levels were won by West Fargo teams. In an iron sharpens iron world, it's a great sign for the next seven years!

While that is peak-Summer stuff, Winter activity made it's way onto the scene as the Force's Mac Swenson was named to the Under-18 US Select team while his former coach Nick Oliver & current North/South coach Parker Metz will also be involved.

An age-specific event was also good for NDSU track & field as freshman Alex Seagris had the best javelin throw at the Under-20 Canadian National Championships.
Paris 2024 may be too lofty but if she can continue to ascend at that rate then Los Angeles in 28 is very much a possibility!

The week also included Kindred's Perry Piatz being named the National Coach of the Year for golf!
