Sunday 7

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The first significant week of competition included a three-match set for NDSU out in the Pacific islands with the first finishing in their favor against Hawaii Pacific and the second ending with Grand Canyon holding the lead. The third will finish Sunday, several hours after sunset here on the Plains.

But of course the week also included most of the remaining Redhawks games as they continued to battle for the West Division. The three losses between Kansas City and Kane County, Illinois were the deciding factor in the race for that crown between Winnipeg, Sioux Falls and the Hawks as the Canadiens hit the wire first.

The playoff announcement should be out some time Monday evening.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The week also had one of the most prolific upper-level football games you will see as Shanley visited South for a game which tallied 111 points in regulation! The Bruins were on the losing end but their 45 points were the second most among AA schools so that will give opposing teams something to think about, so long as they can duplicate it to some degree in their second chance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Football news also extended to the waiver wire as the Purple made a surprise swap at backup quarterback, jettisoning Jaren Hall in favor of Brett Rypien. The 28 year old veteran gives them another possible backup when McCarthy takes the reins while being more reliable should the injury bug continue treat them like a termite. As for the sophomore slinger, Hall is rumored to be a practice squad target for the team but no move in that direction has yet come to pass.

With less than a week until game 1, the roster should be nearly final.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

NDSU also announced the schedules for both men's and women's basketball and a whiteout for Friday night's visit to the BBF by West Virginia.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

And of course there was the highly-anticipated debut for Polasek out in Boulder, CO

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another major week for the Fargo area sports scene!
