FEATURED

Pick 177

Three picks in and the team had successfully addressed roster weaknesses. The fourth pick proved to be a deviation from that. Oklahoma OT Walter Rouse (6'6" 313) was a four year contributor at Stanford before transferring for his final season, earning all-conference recognition after the final two seasons. So that's all good and having a serviceable backup is necessary. But all three interior OL spots are higher needs than the tackles. Of course it's possible they see him kicking inside but at that height he doesn't seem like the best fit to be a guard.

Here's a several-minute-long breakdown of the big man

No different than with any of the players selected Thursday, Friday or Saturday, it's a wait and see to know whether it was a good choice or not. Ultimately, the grade takes a hit because of the lesser need but it still wasn't a bad choice.
