Two games is not a trend
But the West Fargo girl's basketball team is going in the direction of dominance on offense and defense. After their 23-point opening win against Sheyenne on Tuesday they rolled into North's dome and one-upped themselves.
They began with a 20-4 over the first 4.5 minutes of the game and never looked back.
Not to make it sound like North just laid down, because they managed to go score for score with West Fargo over the remainder of the half. They could not, however, string together enough stops & baskets consecutively to dig themselves out of the hole.
In the second half, the Spartans got the deficit to 15, briefly, but then West Fargo hit the gas until each coach went to their benches to close it out.
West Fargo 87, North 42
Grace Miller was the leading scorer for North with 12. Reagan Carlson & Emily Skalicky added 7 apiece.
West Fargo finished with five players in double figures. Lead by freshman Brylie Peterson's 21 & 17 from Chloe Pfau, they also got 15 from Ashlyn Diemert, 11 from Brynn Giesen & 10 from Taylor Van Winkle.
