This West Fargo squad will return without it's go-to scorer from last Winter. It was a season that also had them within one win of qualifying for the state tournament.
Is there a highlight from last season?
"McKenna Becher became one of a few West Fargo players to score 1,000 points."
What effect do you think the lack of summer camps & extra workouts will have on your players?
"We were able to participate in a few camps this summer, but there is no question that it was a unique summer. Typically we go to 4 team camps and last summer we were only able to go to one."
Who are some of the players who will need to step up to replace the ones that graduated or otherwise moved on? "We have quite a few players returning with varsity experience. We return 4 starters and an additional player that started a few games at the beginning of last season. We will look for some players to step up and replace the production McKenna Becher had last season. I am looking towards Sophomores Chloe Pfau and Miriley Simon to step up along with our two seniors Brynn Giesen and Ashlyn Diemert to shoot the 3." As much as you can tell right now, is there a certain aspect of the game that you think will be the strength of your team? "I am hoping our length and size will help us on both ends of the floor. I anticipate our team being a great rebounding team. I want to crash the offensive glass to gain additional possessions." Who do you think the leaders for your team will be this season? "I might be unique in this, but I don’t name captains. It is my belief anyone can be a leader. The players know who to look towards when something needs to be said."
