With a growing lead, into the double-digits in the first half, West Fargo had a chance to put game 1 of the cross-town doubleheader on ice fairly early. Problem was that Shanley had other ideas. In the final minutes before the break, they cut the lead nearly in half save for a late bucket by McKenna Becher. But Shanley's momentum was only briefly stifled by that score.

They resumed play with a 16 - 5 run by Shanley that took half of the second. The two teams traded buckets from there over the next few minutes before Shanley went on a 14 to 6 run during the final five minutes of play to seal the comeback victory. Their late push to the win included scores by Reile Payne, Moriku Hakim and the dagger 3 by Olivia Manuel.

Final Score

Shanley 67, West Fargo 53

18 apiece by Hakim & Payne were joined in double-figures by Hadley Huber for the Deacons. West Fargo also finished with three in dubs, Brynn Giesen (14), Chloe Pfau (14) & Becher (12).

Boys

Shanley's boys team took that steam and looked as though they would be the ones to cruise to a victory but as with the first game, it was far from that easy. West Fargo made an early comeback and built their own 12 point lead, 31 - 19 with under four minutes to play in the first half. A layup by Quincy Smith & a three by Emmet Kennev over the final 12 seconds of play helped trim it all the way down a three-point game, 33 - 30.

After returning to the court both teams scored at an equal pace until a three-minute blitz of transition scores halfway through play by West Fargo tipped the scales. Running & gunning took it from a five-point game all the way to a 16 point lead, including a pair of pull-up threes by Matt Miller and Brett Limke. The Deacons regained their traction over the nine-minutes that remained but West Fargo was able to hold them at arm's length.

Final Score

West Fargo 79, Shanley 61

Shanley was lead by a 20-point night from Roman Srejma with 15 from Talon Hoffer & 11 by Braden DeKeyser. West Fargo was lead by 26 from Miller (21 in the second-half), 17 by Hunter Lyman, 13 by Carter Birrenkott & 12 by Limke.
